Paulo Freire is one of the leading world educators who encouraged the development of social and political consciousness of the poor in the Third World through his controversial approach towards literacy. His opinion is that
governing systems want the people to be passive, not active participants in the society.
Thus he suggests the system that deliberates the pupil, i.e. education teaching pupil to critically examine, think and make his own conclusions on numerous issues on work and life, culture, religion, knowledge.
