Cities 4 climate neutrality: General assembly and conference in Ljubljana
“Cities for climate neutrality” conference will be held from March 22 to 24, 2023 in Ljubljana. We are pleased to invite you to join us at the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Network CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia-Southeast Europe, the Assembly and the conference, which offers numerous accompanying activities – the opportunity to participate in the ProSUMP workshop and the presentation of the film Why we cycle? together with networking with representatives of Greek cities.
The rich and interesting program will begin on Wednesday, March 22 at with the ProSUMP sustainable urban mobility workshop. The workshop covers the topic of institutionalization of urban mobility in the local self-government units of the Western Balkans, with proposals for new or improved organizational structures, as well as the possibility of technical support and pilot projects.
The workshop is intended for users of the ProSUMP project and all other interested parties. Simultaneous translation into English will be provided at the workshop.
The official part of the program starts on Wednesday evening with the annual Network Assembly. Before the Assembly, a joint meeting of the Administrative, Political and Academic Committees will be held.
On Thursday March 23, there will be a diverse program of the #Cities4Climateneutrality conference, which includes thematic presentations, a panel discussion, a pitch session and group work, as well as a visit to examples of good practice of sustainable mobility in Ljubljana (a walk in the pedestrian zone, a bicycle and bus tour of Ljubljana or by boat on the Ljubljanica).
This is an opportunity for networking and exchange contacts with representatives of nine Greek cities, members of the CIVINET Greece – Cyprus network, who are on a four-day study visit to Zagreb and Ljubljana. In the evening, with dinner and music, we will celebrate CIVINET’s 10th anniversary together.
If you plan to extend your stay in Ljubljana, we invite you to come to the screening of the film Why we cycle? and a conversation about cycling, which was organized on the initiative of the bicycle mayor of Ljubljana, Matej Praprotnik, in cooperation with the Ljubljana Bicycle Network and with the support of the City of Ljubljana and Kinodvor.
