On March 22 and 29 2022, ODRAZ held workshops on climate change and sustainable development. About 60 young people were educated about the consequences of climate change on modern society and tools for systemic change and the use of natural resources without disturbing the ecosystem. The workshops were held as part of the project STEM for a sustainable future.

In cooperation with the Radiona Association and the mentoring support of partner institutions, ODRAZ designed and conducted four thematic workshops in order to popularize STEM.

Climate change and STEM workshop

The workshop dealt with different technologies and types of renewable energy sources, circular economy in modern society, European Green Plan, new forms of green mobility and sustainable transport opportunities, modern construction methods and turning gray infrastructure into green. Workshop participants gained in-depth knowledge of the consequences of climate change on modern society and tools on how to work on structural and sustainable projects for change towards green infrastructure and renewable systems.

The workshop was held by Magdalena Makar from ODRAZ.

Workshop Postpandemic world (Sustainable development today)

The workshop was focused on topics: climate change, overcrowding of urban urban areas, destruction of biodiversity, uncontrolled migration, green mobility. Workshop participants analyzed the causes and consequences using the latest scientific research and practical tools and devised green innovative technical solutions that use the latest technology and traditional skills (crafts and knowledge) to create a digitally competent and networked inclusive society.

The workshop was held by Elizabeth Gasparov from ODRAZ.

The workshops were held as part of the project STEM for a sustainable future. It is is a joint project of ODRAZ, the Association for the Development of ‘do-it-yourself’ Culture – Radiona, the Zagreb university of applied sciences and the Polytechnic of Šibenik. The purpose of the project is to build the capacity of civil society organizations, students and other interested young people by using modern educational methods in the fields of STEM, STEAM, sustainable development, critical and creative thinking, etc.
