The fifth block of the STEM Academy held in Zlatna Greda
The fifth block of STEM Academy was held in Zlatna Greda on April 21 and 22, 2022, as part of the activities of the project STEM for sustainable future. The representatives of the partners have expanded their knowledge of social entreprises and community-engaged learning as well as in term of makerspace and design thinking.
The project will strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations, students and other young people, teaching and non-teaching staff of partner educational institutions and thus gain a new circle of trained stakeholders to promote STEM and strengthen cooperation between academia and civil society.
On the second day, we continued with interesting work in groups on the topic of design thinking led by Deborah Hustić. Then we headed to Tikveš, which will become a presentational and educational center for the valorization of natural heritage of the Kopački rit Nature Park after the renovation. Afterwards, we visited an example of good practice in Osijek. In Soldered we were hosted by David Zovko, the young owner of this company that deals with the design and manufacture of system boards. All educational content published on the Soldered blog is open-source, which is an important contribution to the maker community.
