The second training-block of STEM Academy 2021 was held in Čakovec on 11 and 12th of October 2021 as a part of the project STEM for sustainable future. 16 representatives of the project partners participated. The goal of the training was to strengthen the capacities of the representatives of CSOs and the academic community for the popularization of STEM.
In the third block of education, through presentations, group work and discussion, participants learned about climate action scenarios made in EN-ROADS Climate Simulator and about systemic thinking and the theory behind it presented by Branka Tokić form ODRAZ. Also, the Association of Young Informatics of Strahoninac and the Međimurje Informatics Club presented activities aimed at popularizing STEM. After that, we visited ACT Group, which strengthens the ecosystem of the impact economy, and the Humana Nova Social Cooperative, which actively contributes to poverty reduction and sustainable development of the local community by employing marginalized groups, collecting textiles, reusing and recycling it.
In the end, we stopped by Međimurski štacun, a store with local products of the Agricultural Cooperative Najbolje lokalno.
