Action Plan for Education for Sustainable Development
Croatian Government adopted Action plan in April 2011. The Action plan preparation process was lead by Lidija Pavić-Rogošić, who also designed the plan methodology. Ministry of Environmental Protection was in charge for preparing the Plan in cooperation with Ministry of Science, Education and Sports through a participative multi-stakeholder process, including civil society organisations. The Action Plan for Education for Sustainable Development was adopted by the Government of the Republic of Croatia on April 8, 2011, as an implementation tool for the Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette 30/09), and for promoting sustainable development in formal, non-formal and informal education.
The goal under the plan is to develop policies, regulatory and operating frameworks for encouraging education in sustainable development, provide teachers, professors, trainers and decision-makers with necessary knowledge, develop a suitable education tool and material for education in sustainable development, promote research and development, strengthen civil society and media capacities as well as their partnership in implementing sustainable development.
