Let’s Go Sustainable – Youth Responses to Climate Change
The project focuses on strengthening the knowledge and capacities of young people in the areas of sustainable development and climate change adaptation. Its goal is to enhance understanding of environmental challenges and solutions, encourage active citizenship, and empower young people to participate in shaping sustainable local communities.
Project objectives
- increase young people’s awareness of climate change and sustainable development
- empower youth to actively engage in addressing environmental challenges
- encourage cross-sector cooperation between schools, civil society and the local community
- contribute to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and community resilience
Activities
- Sustainable Development Academy – a two‑day training for 20 young participants from Zagreb covering sustainable development, climate change, green policies and public participation, using the EN‑ROADS climate scenario simulation tool.
- Six workshops in secondary schools – education for at least 60 students on topics:
- What is sustainable development and why does it matter?
- Climate change and solutions for a sustainable future
- Public outreach – continuous dissemination of information and educational content via ODRAZ communication channels (website, e‑newsletter, Facebook, Instagram). A minimum of 10 thematic posts is planned.
Expected results
- 20 young participants trained at the Sustainable Development Academy
- at least 60 students participated in sustainability‑themed workshops
- increased knowledge, motivation and engagement among young people
- new ideas and initiatives developed for local community action
- a wide audience informed through digital communication channels
