Strengthening active participation of citizens in decision making at local level
ODRAZ aim was to strengthen the public participation in decision making and monitoring process at the local level through the acquisition of knowledge and skills for policy analysis and through research on the implementation of the Code of Practice on Consultation with the Interested Public in Procedures of Adopting Laws, Other Regulations and Acts.
THE PROJECT CONSISTED OF TWO ELEMENTS
- Strengthening the capacity of the partner organizations and strengthening the knowledge and skills in order to enable them to participate in monitoring and the implementation phase of different regulations and acts
- Research on the implementation of the Code of Practice on Consultation with the Interested Public in Procedures of Adopting Laws, Other Regulations and Acts
ACTIVITIES
During the project two workshops were conducted:
- The first one-day workshop was devoted to general issues regarding public participation, to the content of the Code of Practice on Consultation with the Interested Public in Procedures of Adopting Laws, Other Regulations and Acts and also to Guidelines for the application of the Code
- The second workshop was held almost at the end of the project implementation. Main theme of the workshop was processes of monitoring and implementation of policy analysis
- The study on implementation of the Code of Practice on Consultation with the Interested Public in Procedures of Adopting Laws, Other Regulations and Acts
- During the project life the research on participation of CSOs and other interested stakeholders in decision- making processes and plans at the local level was carried out in several towns and municipalities in different Croatian counties (Međimurska, Zagrebačka, Dubrovačko-neretvanska i Šibensko-Kninska) and in the City of Zagreb.
