International Cooperation – Strengthening Cross-Sectoral Cooperation for Rural Development
Transfer of Experience in Implementing the EU LEADER approach.
ODRAZ implemented a project in cooperation with the Civic Initiatives Association (Građanske inicijative) in Belgrade aimed at conveying information to interested rural development stakeholders in Serbia, relating to the EU’s LEADER approach to rural development as well as pertinent Croatian experience with LEADER like activities.
Target group:
Some 20 representatives of CSOs dealing with local (rural) development and representatives of the business and public sector in Serbia.
Project results:
- participants gained knowledge about the LEADER principles and trained for local development initiative animators in rural areas in line with the European approach
- higher awareness and knowledge in Serbia about the European approach and support to rural development in local communities
- participants from Serbia introduced to Croatian best practice with LEADER like activities: cross-municipal partnerships, established local action groups (LAGs) and successful rural development projects
- linkages established between project participants in Croatia and Serbia, and dialogue initiated regarding joint cross-border projects.
