Capacity for Development

The aim of the project was to strengthen the Local Partnership for Employment in the City of Zagreb (LPE Zagreb). Being one of the LPE Zagreb partners ODRAZ – Sustainable Community Development was also one of the project partners. ODRAZ was very actively involved in project activities: we designed LPE logo, prepared the Communication strategy, held several workshops and conducted a research on Strategy of Human Resources Development among the members.

ODRAZ team also prepared findings and recommendations of LPE members for betterment of the working process within LPE and for more efficient implementation of the Strategy.

Activities that were carried out during the course of the project:

  • Recognizable visual identity for the LPE Zagreb developed
    • LPE logo
    • LPE motto = Actively for new possibilitie
    • a title for the round tables cycle = Zagreb Employment Talks (ZET)

 

  • Workshops for LPE Zagreb members held
    • Project management
    • Transition from the pre-accession instruments to financial instruments for Member States (SF MIS – The Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund Integrated Management  Information System)
  • Institutialization of LPE Zagreb within the Zagreb Development Agency (RAZA) voted in LPE Communication plan (developed by ODRAZ) adopted
  • 6 participative workshops held (during April, May and June 2014). Workshops were organized as a part of the LPE 2011-2013 strategy within Capacity for Development project. The aim of the workshops was to re-think LPE’s functioning, assess the execution and revise the LPE 2011-2013 Strategy altogether.
  • 4 round tables within the cycle Zagreb Employment Talks held. ODRAZ organized two round tables  – themes were social entreperneurship and youth employment in the region.
    • Austria experience and ESF programming (Tribine Grada Zagreba, 19 March 2014)
    • New employment possibilities through social entrepreneurship (Tribine Grada Zagreba, 26 May 2014)
    • Presentation of the initiative for youth employment in the region (Tribine Grada Zagreba, 26 May 2014)
    • Presentation of the future ethical bank – possibilities of financing civil society organizations and cooperatives (HZZ PU Zagreb, 4 September 2014)
  • The final project conference held (Tribine Grada Zagreba, 15 September 2014), where findings and recommendations of LPE members were presented – for the betterment of the working process within LPE, more efficient implementation of Strategy, as well as the model for future LPE work through new project `PIIP Forum`.

The project was implemented within the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), component IV (Human Resources Development). Total project costs were 32.092,00 EUR (EU contribution: 23.735,00 EUR = 73,95%). Implementation period was from 18 September 2013 to 17 September 2014.

The project aimed to strengthen capacities of LPE of the City of Zagreb through enhancing strategic, technical and project management capacities of employees from partner institutions. The project lead organization was Croatian Employment Service (Zagreb office) in partnership with the City of Zagreb, Zagreb Development Agency (RAZA) and ODRAZ.

The LPE work will continue through project “Project Intervention and Implementation Partnership (PIIP) Forum of the Local Partnership for Employment of City of Zagreb – PIIP Forum”, with the Institute for Labour Market Development as the lead partner and ODRAZ as one of the partners. PIIP project will make it possible for LPE members and other interested stakeholders to develop their project ideas, as well as to form partnerships in order to contribute to the fulfillment of goals set by the LPE HRD Strategy.
