Third training block was held within “Modular training about sustainable development and organising community”

Within project “Sustainable Development of the Society starts with Youth”, since 30th till 31st January  in The First School of Economics in Zagreb was held third training-block of Modular training-programme, arranged by ODRAZ. In education is participating 25 representatives of The First School of Economics in Zagreb and School for graphics, design and media production, and also representatives of others interested High Schools and organisations of civil society in Zagreb.

Within education, which will have 5 modular training-blocks in period since September 2019. untill April 2020., ODRAZ will educate teachers about concept of sustainable development and its importance for society, represet possibility of how could schools activate in sustainable development and in which mean teachers can transfer learned to students.

Except teachers from partner schools, on third training, representatives of School for road transport and School of agriculture have also participated.

    On the first day of training block, professors from The First School of Economics represented how they implemet the topic of sustainable development in subjects as croatian, english, geography, biology, chemistry and also in vocational subjects as family business, business communication, socially responsible business transactions, bascis of tourism and school project PE-OR.

    Wanting to represent topic of sustainable development through examples of good practice in Croatia, representatives of social coopeative Humana Nova have been invited. Humana Nova is social company that uses thrown clothes and materials to place it once more on market, whether in orginal or modified shape. Apart Humana Nova, young innovative company CupUp, form Pazin, also has been invited. CupUp brought the product which is alomst 10 years on european market – personalized multiple times washable polypropylene cups as alternative to regular plastic cups or glasses.

    Leonida Kifer, form Humana Nova, and Eduard Kalčić, form CupUp, presented the concept of sustainable business on example on waste management of textile waste and employment of people with disabilities, or renting personalised polypropylene cups which led to discussion  about bringing business together and possible cooperation.

    In the afternoon of the first day, Saša Borovnjak, from Life Potential organisation, represented motivation of students for school programe as topic. They talked about professors experiences in their work with students concerning motivation, whether it is positive or negative experience of motivation. Furthermore, Saša explained the role of coaching in motivation and how it can bring bigger interest in some subjects.

    Second day we talked about volunteering. Participants already knew the key steps in process of preparing volunteering programe, which is in line with Cycle management of volunteering programe and its inclusion in organisational management.

    The legal statue in Croatia regarding documents needed for succesful maganing with volunttering programe was represented to participants, such as description of volunteering position, volunttering contract and other inevitable documentation, application forms etc.

    Except theoretical introduction, participants had chance for interactive group work, during which they discussed about the challenges in volunteering by doing SWOT analisis.

    Two remaining blocks will be held in School for graphics, design and media production on 27th and 28th of February and 23rd and 24th March 2020.

    About second Training block

    Second training block was held  since 15th untill 16th November 2019, in The First School of Economics in Zagreb. Within first day, ODRAZ director Lidija Pavić-Rogošić held presentation on subject Society – frame we live in; Sectors in society and their role, colaboration and intersectoral partnership and Organisation and mobilisation of society. During second day was held education about good managing and social capital (how to establish and which are indicators) and principle of good managing on local level.
