Third educational workshop on Service-Learning held in Eco centre Zlatna Greda

From 6 to 7 July 2018, third educational workshop on Service-Learning has been successfully held in Eco centre Zlatna Greda. Participants in education were professors from Faculty of Economics and Business and Faculty of Graphic Arts University of Zagreb and representatives from civil society organizations directly involved in the project “Leaps of knowledge – engaged community” The faculties and civil society organizations for the sustainable development of local communities.

As part of the first day of education, Jasmin Sadikovic from the Green Osijek Association and Ivan Ljubicic, director of Zlatna Greda, presented to the participants the project of the reconstruction of the Zlatna greda.

Zlatna Greda is located in the middle of the Baranja region, just over twenty kilometres from Osijek, in the forest surrounding Nature Park Kopački rit. Their Eco centre is a great place to rest and have fun. 

 There is no entrance fee, and they even offer free bicycle rides for all cycling enthusiasts. Eco centre offers accommodation, food, drinks and lots of entertaining programs for both young and adults. Renewal of the Eco Centre started in 2003.

After the presentation of Zlatna Greda, ODRAZ director Lidija Pavić-Rogošić held a presentation “Mobilizing and Organizing the Community˝ about the principles and ways of organizing and mobilizing the community and the concept of social capital. Through the workshop, participants were thinking about the ideal community.

In the afternoon, Teo Žeželj from the Faculty of Graphic Arts presented a faculty with a special focus on the subjects involved in the project – Print and Design, Web Design and Multimedia Communications 1 and 2.

We used the leisure time for a boat ride through Kopački rit Nature Park and visit the castle in Tikveš and the monument to the Battle of Batina.

On the second day of education, Morana Fudurić from the Faculty of Economics Business in Zagreb, spoke about crowdfunding and how to successfully prepare a good crowdfunding campaign. She has presented examples of successful and unsuccessful crowdfunding campaigns from Croatia.

We completed the education with the practical part of the workshop “Using reflection in mentoring”, led by Jelena Radošević from the partner association Life Potential. In the following, Saša Borovnjak explained to the participants the difference between mentoring and coaching and finished his lecture on “Communication with the community”.
