Second educational workshop on Service-Learning held in Čakovec

From 18 to 19 June 2018, second educational workshop on Service-Learning has been successfully held in Čakovec and Sv. Martin na Muri. Participants in education were professors from Faculty of Economics and Business and Faculty of Graphic Arts University of Zagreb and representatives from civil society organizations directly involved in the project “Leaps of knowledge – engaged community” The faculties and civil society organizations for the sustainable development of local communities.

On the first day of education we visited ACT Group from Čakovec. Stjepan Mikec and Andrea Vuković presented their work. ACT Group is the leading example of social entrepreneurship in Croatia and in the region, supporting and developing social entrepreneurship in the field of green economy and social services in the community. It gathers organizations and individuals who promote and develop eco-social economy in Croatia and in the region. 

Guided by experiences, we recognize the needs and challenges, offer and implement innovative solutions for the sustainable growth and development of local communities.

In the afternoon of the program, Saša Borovnjak from the partner association Life Potential met us with the method of using reflection in mentoring. Mentoring is about building a synergistic relationship based on common interests and goals.

On the second day we continued with the education on applying the Service-Learning method at the faculties. Morana Fudurić and Ivana Marić presented the experience with the application of the Service-Learning method at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb as part of the courses that are directly involved in the project – Interactive Marketing Communication; Professional Practice / Internship; Marketing of non-profit organizations; Marketing for non-profit organizations and Non-profit organizations management.

Bojana Ćulum from the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka presented 10 principles of Service-Learning, and as part of her presentation she talked about mentoring in CSOs and reflections with special emphasis on concrete examples and experiences in working with students within her course.
