Representatives of ODRAZ on CIVITAS Forum 2016 in Gdynia
14 CIVITAS Forum was held on 28th – 30th of September in the Polish city Gdynia. Around 500 stakeholders from all over the world, who are devoted to the development of sustainable urban mobility in their cities, gathered at the conference. The topic of this year’s conference was called “Shaping the mobility of tomorrow”. During the Forum the meeting of CIVINET networks was held, in which sustainability of existing and establishment of new networks was discussed.
On behalf of ODRAZ and Technical Secretariat of the network CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia-JIE in Croatia, Marina Dimić Vugec, Ksenija Vidović Vorberger and Marina Vojković participated in the conference.
Gdynia has many successful examples of implementation of transportation plans, clean energy initiatives and public participation.
The city is an active participant of the CIVITAS program and a leader of many sustainable mobility measures in Europe. Further, Gdynia is the only city in Poland to be included in two CIVITAS demonstration projects – CIVITAS Tellus and Dyn@amo.

In the framework of the program of Forum the CIVITAS awards for the accomplishments in the field of urban mobility were also given. This year’s winners are Polish city Rzeszów in the category “Technical innovation”, Italian city Bologna in the category “Public Participation”, Spanish city Malaga for “The CIVITAS City of the Year” and Polish Krakow for the category “The CIVITAS Transformations”.
At the end of the conference the host city of the next Forum was announced – Torres Vedras, which is one of the leading Portugese cities in the field of sustainable urban development.
