Presentation of the Action Plan and discussion about maker spaces
The City of Zagreb is a partner in the Urban M project, which aims at developing ‘maker spaces’, an innovative urban infrastructure, by enhancing policies and identifying and connecting relevant stakeholders.Within the UrbanM project, the final version of the draft Action plan for the development of maker spaces in the City of Zagreb has been prepared in recent months, the drafting of which has been done by ODRAZ.
During the project, meetings were held with relevant stakeholders (e.g. ZICER, IRIM, Radiona, Bioteka) who contributed to the better implementation of the project, the public was informed, meetings and events were held.
On December 19, 2019 dissemination event and stakeholder meeting was held at Zagreb Innovation Centre-ZICER; some 40 stakeholders participated from the scientific and academic community, civil society, representatives of makers, schools, museums, institutes, cities, craftsmen associations, etc.
In the introductory part Zrinko Rebrina from City of Zagreb briefly introduced the project, and Deborah Hustić presented an organisation Radiona, a do-it-yourself development organization, which integrates STEAM areas and has realized 25 international exhibitions that featured artists, designers and technologists. She also spoke about the idea behind ‘maker spaces’.After that, Lidija Pavić-Rogošić from ODRAZ presented the Action Plan, which was followed by interactive work in groups in which stakeholders considered and suggested activities for the implementation of the Action Plan for the improvement of maker spaces.
The project is funded by the Interreg Europe. Leading partner is Birmingham City University-BCU. In addition to the City of Zagreb, the partners are cities of Lisbon, Birmingham, Vilnius, Bratislava; Lazio Region; Fomento San Sebastian Economic Development Agency; Business support centre from Kranj. ODRAZ-Sustainable Community Development participates in this project as external expert of the City of Zagreb.
