ODRAZ director participated in Mediterranean week of Economic Leaders in Barcelona
ODRAZ director Lidija Pavić-Rogošić, as a member of Work group for Euromediterranean European Economic and Social Commitee (EESC) has participated in Mediterranean week of economic leaders in Barcelona, conference consecrated to promotion of Mediterranean region and supporting key economic sectors and cultural value of this area. Event was held in Barcelona, on 20th till 22nd November 2019.
The MedaWeek Barcelona is nowadays the iconic conference dedicated to promoting the Mediterranean region worldwide, as well as euro-mediterranean alliance and regional economic collaboration.
This event endorses the key economic sectors and the cultural values of this region through a wide variety of forums.
One of the main topics was how to adjust needs of sustainable development of mediterranean area with global aims of sustainable development of UN. Forums have been focused on harmful effect of plastic in region, specially in sea, on urgent need for achieve circular economy system to develop sustainable practice in big mediterranean cities and textile industry, as a support to renewable energy sources.
Also, one of the main topics were ethical business practice and gender equality.
Participants were business people, representative of governments, international organisation and business corporation form Europe, Africa and Middle East.
