ODRAZ director at the meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee
ODRAZ director Lidija Pavić-Rogošić participated at the meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee, held on the 6th of February 2017, in Bruxelles. She presented the work of the Joint Parliamentary Committee, which she presides and which gathers representatives of the civil society organizations from the EU – members of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Chilean organisation.
The mentioned body was established last year and the declaration, rules of work and work program were adopted on the meeting in Santiago. Members have expressed the wish for participation in the process of modernization of the Association Agreement between the EU and Chile, to which provisions about sustainable development and Global Golas for Sustainable Development
The president of the Joint Parliamentary Committee supported the inclusion of the civil society representatives in the process of negotiations about modernization of the Association Agreement between the EU and Chile, signed in the year 2002 and to which adjustments have to be made in order for it to fit to new conditions in the world.The representative of the European Commission presented the process of the work on modernization of the Agrement and the deadlines.
