ODRAZ at CIVITAS Forum in 2014 in Casablanca
Twelfth CIVITAS Forum was held from 23 to 26 September 2014 in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. Casablanca is also the first city to host the CIVITAS Forum outside Europe. The main themes of this year’s CIVITAS Forum were urban mobility and social inclusion – the availability of planning for sustainable cities.
Croatian representatives from Cities of Zagreb, Rijeka and Koprivnica were also present at the largest Euro-Mediterranean meeting of stakeholders engaged in sustainable urban mobility. . At the invitation of the organizers Lidija Pavic- Rogošic from ODRAZ held two presentations – one on behavioral factors/changes in traffic and one on “Seniors as an important shareholders group in urban traffic.”
During the CIVITAS Forum, a meeting of European CIVINET networks took place. CIVINET networks bring together cities dedicated to sustainable transport and other stakeholders engaged in sustainable urban mobility (public urban transport companies, associations, universities, etc..). On behalf of CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia three representatives participated: Lidija Pavic-Rogošic as Croatian Secretariat, Helena Hecimovic from town of Koprivnica and Vlado Babic, coordinator of the Network from the City of Ljubljana. We are proud because our Network has the most members, especially bearing in mind that both countries have small population.
