First training-block of Academy of sustainable development for teachers held in Zagreb
In context of project “Thinking sustainable – teaching youth for sustainable development” first training block on 29th and 30th of November 2019 in culture center “Napredak” was held in Zagreb. 30 teachers from partner schools have met the concept of sustainable development and concept of society, and also individual growth through communication skills. In context of first training-block we visited example of good practice, Recycled Estate in countryside Vukomerić.
In introduction, ODRAZ director Lidija Pavić-Rogošić has introduced the project (goal, content and activities). Participans introduced their activities in their schools which are connected to the sustainable development. After the theoretical part, participants have been separated in 6 groups, and in group assignment have choosen 3 goals of Sustainable Development Goals which are significant to Croatia.
They shared goals in groups linked to environment, society and economy to connect all parts significant to sustainable development.
They marked next goals as the most important ones: Goal no. 4 Quality education; Goal no.16 peace, justice and strong institutions; Goal no.11 Sustainable cities and communities and Goal no.17 Partnership for the goals.
Within the Academy, teachers will be educated so that they can, in synergy with associations, encourage future generations to reflect and be more involved in SD of their community. Education is designed for teachers from partner schools form 4 cities – Zagreb, Rijeka and surrounding region, Osijek and Split and also representative of other interested schools from mentioned cities or regions.
