Interview with Séamus Boland, President-elect of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC)

Séamus Boland is currently President of the Civil Society Organisations’ Group of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), and will take over the role of President of the entire Committee from October 2025. He is a prominent advocate for rural development, social inclusion and sustainable policies within the European Union.

He comes from Ireland, from the Irish Rural Link (IRL), a national organisation that deals with issues of sustainability and poverty in rural areas. IRL is part of an umbrella group of national organisations.

ODRAZ’s Director Lidija Pavić-Rogošić works with Séamus Boland as Vice-President of the Civil Society Organisations Group.
